“Horiatiki Salata” means in Greek, the “salad of the villager”. It’s also known as Greek salad and it’s the absolute necessity at any Greek lunch.
The reason of the popularity of this salad it’s because it’s refreshing (very good for the Greek summer). In the past it used to be only a summer salad but nowadays you can easily find the ingredients to prepared in winter.
INGREDIENTS:
1 Cucumber
4 Medium Tomatoes
1/3 Feta Cheese
1 Green Pepper
5 Olives
1 Onion
Olive Oil
Oregano
Salt
PREPARATION:
Cut the vegetables in slices and mix in a salad bowl.
Top with the olives, oregano and cover with “crumbled” feta cheese.
Pour the olive oil evenly.
Tip: use good quality of olive oil (any Mediterranean Olive oil is a good choice)
And off course, “kali oreksi !!!”
