Yes some things do happen, but over all people aren't that bad and locals are a pleassure. If you want a true impression of Greece then go and visit. I've lived and worked in Kardamena and Faliraki and enjoyed my time there imensley with out managing to have sexual intercourse on the street :-) I lived and worked in Greece at the pinacle of the media frenzy and I have to say it’s not nearly as bad as is described above.
