Hi, I used to live in cyprus in voroklini a small village in Larnaca but 3 years ago i moved back to england after only 12 months of cypriot life. At school i was learning greek every day and became almost fluent i have been looking for a greek teacher but none seemed to work, i tried greek school ( on saturdays) but i felt displaced due to all the children being greek and i very english. I have found this site a great help to refresh my memory on the words i have already learnt and am greatful for it as i still travel to cyprus every easter for greek easter and summer. i feel as though i am begining to get back on track with the language and feel more confident to speak it again thank you for this.

I am interested in learning more ancient Greek for understanding ancient texts, Biblical texts, and Greek lyric poetry. This is a good start. Thanks.

Hello,

I am a Brazilina imigrant living in the Republic of Ireland for aver 6 year.
I went to Greece about 2 years ago. I loved it but hated the fact the tooooooooo many people smoke and this definetly makes the non-smkers having a hard time in closes public places, besides that my trip was just wonderfull.
I visited Athens, Delphi and a cruise for 3 of the Greek islands.

At that time I knew how to say very few words and also learned few other ones by talking to the Greek locals. This time I want to get my Greek vocabulary a bit more ample.
I liked very much your web and podcasts and have been listening to them over and over again, together with another sources, in this way putting in practice the main pilar of the leaning process ( listening).

I also have chosen Greece to be the place for my wedding whitch will happen in june in ZAKYNTHOS. Will be something simple, just a symbolic cerimony as the civil one will be in Ireland.
Will you help me with some information about Zakynthos and also few words used in a Greek wedding?

Thanks and best regards,
