Welcome back! Athens is great Eugene, I had the opportunity to live 4 years there. I still remember my feelings spending nights to a traditional taverna exactly down to the rock of Acropolis, the history it's all over around, you are drinking ouzo at the place where democracy born and this brings all ways a feeling for philosophical conversations.

Good news is that Giorge is coming back at 2 weeks and podcast will start again!!!

Back from a vacation in Greece. It was fantastic. Friendly people who welcomed the effort to speak even a few words of Greek. Awesome historical sites and museums and tasty food.

The itinerary was unusual. I stayed in Athens and went on excursions out of the city. It meant less time in places like Delphoi (Delphi in English) than with an overnight stay but it was a good introduction to Greece and a chance to learn of its capital city in some depth.

I love your podcast and am finally learning. I hope your studies allow you some time soon to add an episode. In particular, I would love to learn how to describe what my family is up to, such as that my mom is a teacher, my dad is retired and has a wonderful flower garden and that he also raises 50 ring-necked doves, and that my brother is a musician.

If it's not too much trouble, can you also describe if there's a polite way to explain to my relatives that I am gay, that I have had a boyfriend, and that I write books about my struggle in being a gay man? With some of my cousins, my two closest, this was very easy; they are very open-minded and speak English well, so we could have important discussions. In the village, though, I just kept my mouth shut. When I visited and stayed in a good hotel, the front desk and concierge were very cool and polite about my questions regarding the gay bars. Of course, I had done my homework and knew where I was. I also exercised judgment in whom I would tell. But I'd like to hear your opinion on the topic and some safe vocabulary to use or avoid.

You're a great podcaster. Good luck with your studies.

I will be taking a vacation in Greece next month, my first trip there. I will be staying in Athens for nine days, visiting sites in Athens itself, and with with plans to take excursions from there to other sites, including Mykines, Epidavros, Korinthos, Delfoi, Aigina and Akri Sounio.

I am already studying your Google maps, and relistening to your podcasts.
