Some tips on buying a house in the Greek islands!

Dear Mike and All!

What is the dream of your life? To buy a farm in Greece? Then do it in a Greek island.

It’s the most suitable place to do so. Reasons to do so…

You can build a small house in it and have a constant place to live. Imagine the enthousiasm of your children and grand-children when they know they have a place to visit in greece. You can also organize them so that they visit you yearly. But if you have no family yet, while can flirt a girl, it can be devastating (in the good way) to say “Summertime? I’m going to my house in Greece..”
If you have already a girlfirend, then just buy it, do not tell her word. It is needed to travel in Greece though. Let her know NOT. She thinks that you have another girlfriend. Then take her to your new house or farm and have her excited, it’s simple romantism. Hehe!!

So…, to get once again serious. Go to remax.gr and try to find something. I would recommend Crete (Kriti). It’s a nice place to be. You can find from 45.000 to 500.000 euros estate. But if you wanna be more proffessional, just visit it. You will find real estate bussinesses where you can achieve a better price. A trip to a Greek island is always fine, as well.

There is a huge bureaucratic process though to reach this moment. I will tell only one word. Simvoleografos. This is the greek word for “notary”. Find one (it’s not difficult) and he will tell you everything. After having the farm or house bought, it will seem as something normal to happen. Being rich helps a lot. But rich in Greece is somebody who has the average American or European wage.

For any further information do not hesitate to ask me. I can write even more on it, so to clarify it.

I say, if you like a quite, peacefully live, never, never pay a land, house or somthing else on greek, make only holiday, all other is crazy!

“…rich in Greece is somebody who has the average American or European wage.” (hahahaha)
Oh my dear friend, where do you live? Rich in Greece is someone who is also rich in USA or Europe! We’re not in the ’50’s any more! Wake up!

I don’t like your ironic tone, though I will answer you.

GDP per capita USA: $44,333
GDP per capita Germany $36,975
GDP per capita Netherlands $38,618
GDP per capita UK $38,624
GDP per capita Greece $20,794

I compare Greece to US and Europe. I will take no answer comparing wages of Greece and Nigeria.
In comparison to other EU countries, we are not rich.

Basic wage of unskilled staff in Greece is 630 euro, in Netherlands it is about 1300 euros, in UK about 1220 euros, in France 1300, in Ireland 1200.

Try to be more kind next time even if you disagree with me.

You are right, but the concept of “rich” could go way beyond.
However, fact is that, to buy a medium to high standard house in countries like Greece, Spain and, in my case, Brazil, among others you will expend no much more than you would expend in a new medium class car. In reality those houses would be seem as luxurious in Ireland where a simple medium class one go over 200.000 Euros.

That’s true! But it’s dependent on where you buy the house. Even in Brazil and in Greece you can find really expensive houses, but the chances to get a good-sold one are more in these two countries than in US or UK.

i just stoped in here for some other reason
but i can say that if you bay a house in greece or a farm doesnt make you rich
Or make a bit more clear ,,,,,,,,
you cant call yourself rich just by baying a house in the other country
I live in uk and earn 50000 euros a year and i think i still consider myself as a working class person ………..
You can make that dream for yourself
but most of us dont have or cant save that much money to bay a farm
i think you need to grow up and live you real life
sorry mate dont want to be rude toyou
